The pop-prophecy "tabloid" version of the BLACK SUN. With coffee cup and solar glasses, people will view a natural eclipse of the sun as plotted and scheduled for years on every meteorologists' calendar. Leading up to this spectacular event, numerous attempts have been made to connect the eclipse with the "prophetic" BLACK SUN prophecy of the Bible.

The Biblical description of the end-time BLACK SUN and associated cosmic events is accurately pictured in this graphic above. It will not be a pre-announced event. It will not be a natural eclipse. People will not flock to see it. They will run from it. "Spectacular" is a term far too anemic for God's heavenly display that will announce the return of Jesus Christ to answer the age-long prayer of His saints for "Thy Kingdom Come".
Jesus said,
"But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken..."
Revelation 6:12-15 adds,
and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood;
and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind.
And the sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
And the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains;
The BLACK SUN has a very specific physical-context: It is not an isolated eclipse-spectacle. The BLACK SUN is accompanied by a universal cosmic catastrophe, a blood-red moon, a cascade of falling stars, a split-open and rolled-back sky, a monstrous global earthquake, imploding mountain ranges, etc. This is the true sign of the BIBLICAL BLACK SUN. The meaning of this Sky Sign is derived from the CONTEXT, not from speculation parading as prophecy, or sophisticated formulas or religious code words. God spoke plainly and has warned the unbelieving world.
It is disappointing the way many believers neglect their only true authority and source of light on these kinds of subjects, while getting all of their information from the Internet prophecy-fad sights or ‘here-today-gone-tomorrow’ best seller books. The only answer to what is going to happen tomorrow, and what signs will signal those future events, is in the Bible.
Though the BLACK SUN event is a supernatural event, the Bible has much to say about God's natural creation actually displaying "sky-signs" of God's supernatural work. What are some of these "sky-signs"?
Genesis 1:14 prophesies SKY SIGNS for All Mankind (not just those code-breakers and outside-the-Bible "in-the-know" gnostics). Numbers 1-5 below are actually "natural" signs supernaturally created by God for their Biblically stated purpose. These Biblical Sky-Signs are available for ALL to understand and see. Numbers 6 and 7 are not natural. They are supernatural.
1. God's sun/moon/stars serve as a SIGN of His cosmic Clock to mark out "days, [months] and years," SEASONS, (Gen. 1:14-19).
2. The Sun, in concert with earth's atmosphere, is the cause of the SIGN of the Rainbow and God's Grace, (Gen. 9:12-13)
3. The sun/moon/stars are a SIGN of the Existence of God and His eternal Glory, (Psa. 8:3-9; 19:1-6; 148:1-3; Rom. 1:18-21).
4. The sun/moon/stars cause the Weather SIGNS, (Mat. 16:2-3; Luke 12:54-56).
5. The sun/moon/stars are a SIGN of the INDESTRUCTIBILITY OF ISRAEL, (Jer. 31:35-36; Psa. 89:35-37).
6. The Star of Bethlehem was a SIGN and guide to the Wise Men to locate the newborn Messiah in an obscure spot in an obscure town, (Mat. 2:1-2).
7. The REAL BLACK SUN will be a SIGN to ISRAEL, and all mankind, that Jesus is about to break through the sky, and return to rule the world in righteousness, (Isa. 13:10; 24:23; 34:4; Joel 2:10; 2:31; 3:15; Zec. 14:6-7; Mat. 24:29-31; Mark 13:24-26; Luke 21:25; Acts 2:20 quoting Joel 2:31; and Rev. 6:12-14).
To summarize, the BLACK SUN is no mere eclipse. It is not a natural phenomenon. It includes a whole array of sky-signs in one single, supernatural event like none other in history. The passages referred to in point #7 above uniformly paint a cosmic scene which is not on man’s radar. Meteorology, astronomy and cosmic science know nothing of this scene the Bible portrays as a future phenomenon.
When all of the passages are considered, we have this: The sun turns black, the moon red, the stars grow dim and cascade to the earth in an unimaginable global meteor shower, the atmospheric heavens split open and roll back “like a scroll”, a worldwide splinter-earthquake crumbles the cities of the nations, and all of this in one huge episode!
The BLACK SUN parade of events shocks history—and announces the King! Is this a natural eclipse depicted in these prophecies? No. It is a display worthy of the coming King of the Universe! Amen. Come Lord Jesus.
